Backpage Ads: How to Post Ads on This Free Classified Ad Site Using Backpage Posting Software

One of the most successful outlets for promoting affiliate products is the free online classified ads site backpage. Ads placed here can bring in immediate money, as I talk about in this post on making money with backpage on Hubpages (I’ve made as much as $900 in one day in affiliate sales on this free classified ads site).

But, many have problems using the backpage posting software. Here are clear, step-by-step instructions on how to place ads on backpage -- and start making money almost immediately (with the right product,of course).

1. Watch a Training Video: The first thing you need to do is watch a backpage training video to get an overall understanding of the software. To find one, simply go to Youtube and search using keywords like “backpage software,” backpage auto poster,” “how to place ads on backpage,” “backpage auto posting software,” etc.

Watch the video all the way through first without trying to follow the instructions. This way, you’re only concentrated on one activity. Most of the videos are 1-4 minutes long.

“How do I start using it; how do I get it to run?”

1. Watch a Training Video: The first thing you need to do is watch the training video to get an overall understanding of the software.

2. Start Program: Click the “Start” button on your computer. Once you click this, you should see a link that says “All Programs”. Click it. Find the program entitled, “BP Sender”. Click on it. This opens up the main file you need to start entering the information you saw in the training video.

3. Enter Ad: Once the backpage software is opened, click the button that says “Ad Editor” in top left-hand corner (middle button of three listed there). Enter the copy for your ad in the two boxes there (“Subject” and “Body”).

4. Name Your Ad: Put the name of your ad in the box in the bottom left-hand corner (doesn’t matter what it is; it will only be visible to you).

5. Enter Email: Go to the right hand side of the screen and enter email address that corresponds to this ad in the box that says “Emails”. This is where the ad confirmations will come – the final step before the ad is placed.

Note: Create what I call throwaway email addresses because you will get a lot of junk email and renewal notifications sent to this email address so you don’t want to use your regular email address for this.

Also, I don’t put phone numbers in my ads, so you can ignore this box.

6. Load Cities: Click the “Posting URLs” in the bottom left corner. You will be instructed to load a file from your hard drive.

You will load one of the files that come with the software (these are the actual cities the ads will be posted to). The file used in the demo I purchased back in 2009 was the Business Opportunities .txt file (Biz-opps-all-cities). At the time, there were 177 cities in this file (ie, 177 ads you can place in 177 different cities).

Note: Many more cities have been added to Backpage.com since this software was created. You can manually expand the file if you want by cutting/pasting the URLs of the new cities directly into the text file.

7. Start Posting: Once you load the text file, click “Save”, then “Post”. The software will start posting.

8. Check Email: Once you have posted all of your ads, log into the email address you used in the ad. You will see a city for each ad you want to post. Open them, click the confirmation link – and voila! – your ad will be live.

That’s it – it’s way easy once you get used to it!
